Born from a Love of Spain

La Cocina de Perez was born from a lifelong passion for Spain's rich culinary traditions and the soulful warmth of Andalusian hospitality. Inspired by the family-run bodegas of Seville, where food is a language of love and every meal is an occasion, our founders set out to bring that same authentic, elevated spirit to Bell Gardens, California. What began as a dream around a dinner table became a mission: to offer this community a dining experience that is genuinely, unapologetically Spanish.

Our vision is simple yet profound: to create a gathering place where guests can share a steaming pan of house-made paella, pass plates of tapas around the table, and linger over handcrafted sangria until the evening becomes a memory. Our kitchen is led by a head chef whose training and career are deeply rooted in the regional kitchens of Spain. Classically formed in Andalusia, they spent years mastering the seafood stews of the coast, the slow-braised meats of the interior, and the art of the perfect paella in the professional kitchens of Seville and Barcelona. What they bring to Bell Gardens is not interpretation or fusion, it is the real thing: Spanish cuisine as it has always been cooked, with honesty and love.

Every morning begins with mise en place and a deliberate sourcing ritual, because great Spanish food demands respect before the first flame is lit.
